Trailer Park Princess
This is a YA about a girl named Rory who is struggling with some hard issues. She is basically a mother to her younger brother Thax because her mother is an absent parent. Rory starts at yet another new school and in the process meets Toby who is the all-star quarter back of the football team.
Even though Rory struggles with some harsh issues that most people have never dealt with, I grew to love her. While reading this book, I bonded with both Rory and her friend Mando. I hit the floor rolling when Mando was in a fight with another character and said "Frumpy looking douche discharge. Umpa lumpa twat snot." There were several times that I wanted to cry because of what Rory was going through and other times I was laughing so hard because of something the Mando said.
Toby and Rory end up dating for a year. During that time Toby basically treats Rory as trailer park trash by refusing to stop when she was getting in or out of his truck, Not defending Rory against his friends, and still talking to the ex.
At one point in the book a new character named Rome enters. Rome is a 24 year old who is raising his younger brothers after his mother passes away. Rome becomes friends with Rory, which causes problems with Rory and Toby. Rome becomes Rory's rock while she deals with some tough issues.
I totally fell in love with this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series!!
